More than $40K Raised at Annual Dining to Make a Difference Event!

We had a ROARING good time at this year’s Dining to Make a Difference event! Guests attended in their 1920’s attire and enjoyed food stations, an open bar, silent auction, raffle, games, and more! It was such a fun evening enjoyed in the beautiful Cox Building in downtown Maysville. The event made more than every, raising more than $40,000 for the Ion Center!

One of the highlights of Dining to Make a Difference every year, is having the honor to recognize someone for going above and beyond for our agency and the survivors that we serve. This year, the Ion Center is thrilled to announce Dr. Randall & Bedouin Dennison as our 2024 Icon Award Recipients. Christy Burch, Ion Center CEO, says, “we have had the unwavering support of Dr. Dennison and Bedouin for many years and are overwhelmed with gratitude for all they’ve done for our agency. There is no way to appropriately thank them for their support, but we hope that recognizing them with this award can be a small token of our heartfelt thanks. They do so much for our agency and the community, and we truly can’t thank them enough!”

This year the Joe Pfeffer Award was given to Margaret (Peg) Crum. Peg is the free-spirited, quick-witted wife of Dan & mother of three sons Jonathan, Nicholas, & Christian. Peg is a retired educator & school guidance counselor from Maysville, KY.  All her working career she was dedicated to caring for and helping the young people in her community. In her retirement, Peg has focused heavily on the community itself & making it a better place. Peg has been actively involved with Green Dot Maysville, since its launch in 2016, serving both on the Steering Committee & Green Dot Maysville Board. Peg truly cares about the Maysville community, it’s future, and citizens & she shows that by living the Green Dot mission.

Huge shoutout to our Celebrity Servers, George Sparks, Valerie Grigson, Tina Teegarden, and Owen McNeill, who raised over $1500 for Ion Center!!! Thank you for being such a fun part of this event!

Thank you to everyone who took part in Dining to Make a Difference and made it a huge success! Whether you attended, placed a bid, purchased a bourbon raffle ticket, or made a donation, you helped to make a difference! We couldn’t do our work without the support of the community and we are so grateful!
