FREE SERVICES FOR ALL
When people come to The Ion Center for help after experiencing power-based personal violence, many are surprised to learn that every single service we offer is free:
- Safety planning
- Hospital/court advocacy
- Even Therapy is free
HOW WE PUT GRANTORS, FUNDERS, and CORPORATE DONATIONS TO WORK
When individuals and families are fleeing violence in their homes and come to stay in one of our shelters, we provide:
- All their meals
- Hygiene products
- Clothing closet for them, as many people arrive with just the clothes on their backs.
- Funds to meet unexpected needs. If someone needs something that we don’t have, we purchase it for them.
- A stock of household supplies and appliances so we can help start folks with all the items they need when they move into their new home.
We are incredibly appreciative of our grantors and funders, but we also rely on corporate collaborators and partners to fill in some of the gaps with unrestricted funds – money that isn’t from a grant and isn’t earmarked specifically for a program or salary. Unrestricted funds not only help with many of the items above, but they also help us with
- Unexpected expenses
- Building maintenance
- Security system upgrades
- Many more uncovered costs associated with the work we do.
Our Corporate Collaborators are valued and become part of our mission to provide fulfillment in actively enriching our community by making a genuine impact in the lives of survivors of power-based personal violence. Corporate Collaborators enjoy opportunities for:
- Media partnerships
- Recognition on The Ion Center’s website
- Social media spotlights
- Signage and print recognition
- Volunteer opportunities
Consider encouraging your employees to join you in this form of corporate philanthropy. With matching gifts, companies match donations that their employees make to nonprofits. These are a great way for nonprofits to maximize their donation revenue and for donors to maximize the direct impact they make on the lives of people who have been effected by power-based personal violence.
When considering The Ion Center as the beneficiary of an annual drive, companies encourage their employees to donate monetary gifts or items at certain times of the year. Drives can happen anytime during the year, however the most common time for companies to promote employee giving is at the end of the year or on Giving Tuesday (the Tuesday after Thanksgiving). Perhaps a drive could coincide with Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month (April) or Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October).
We are always looking for sponsors for our events and fundraisers. We offer a variety of sponsorship levels. Take a look at our upcoming events to see what’s on the calendar and how you can be involved!
Does your company want to give a financial gift to The Ion Center? Do you want to donate an in-kind service or product? Do you have an idea for collaborating with us in a way that is not specified above? We’d love to work with you. Please contact us through one of the avenues below and we can discuss partnership avenues.
